On Sunday, the day after the restrictive measures and the ban on access to forest areas in the "Shumen Plateau" natural park were lifted, people went outside en masse, BNT reported.
The mystery near Shumen continues for the 10th day, with no results from the search for the black leopard. Police in the city are checking two brothers nicknamed the Lion Cubs, known for their love of wild animals.
What does it feel like to walk and have one thing in mind, that you might encounter a large wild animal? Most Shumen residents who went for a walk yesterday showed that they were not particularly scared.
For days after the wild animal was captured on video, no one has seen it. No fresh tracks or camera traps have been found. That's why the ban on access to the "Shumen Plateau" has been lifted. The authorities said that there is currently no certainty that the predator is on the territory of the park. There is even speculation about whether it is a puma or a leopard.
"As far as I saw the silhouette, it is a leopard, which is typical of Africa and Asia. But in this case it is an African animal," said Robert Atanasov, a hunting expert.
Both versions are still circulating - whether the leopard escaped from a private owner in our country or came from a zoo in Hungary or Serbia.
"Most likely it is from a private owner. Because zoos have cash, income and expense books. so the animal comes from a private owner in Bulgaria. And it is not far from the migration process, but within a few kilometers. Knowing the mentality of these animals, they are very territorial and do not like to migrate.
According to experts, the leopard attacks only when threatened or pressured by people, so there is no reason to be afraid. Although the ban on access to the "Shumen Plateau" park has been lifted, its employees continue to inspect the site.
