Sofia University lecturer Assoc. Prof. Georgi Lozanov commented that in the case of the scandal about a possible corruption scheme in the Sofia Municipality and "We continue the change" he sees a punitive action, not a real attempt to deal with corruption in Bulgaria. According to him, this is another example of a trend to erase the liberal part of the political spectrum, which also coincides with geopolitical trends.
"Unlike the poodle scandal, this time there seem to be really documented hypotheses about future corruption actions," said Assoc. Prof. Lozanov on a program on "Eurocom" TV.
He pointed out that there is no room for justification theses, but it is necessary to track what the proportion of the hypothetical intention for corruption is compared to the general feeling of corruption in our country. According to him, the political reaction is disproportionate.
"The attacks are mainly against the PP and they must disappear first, and then the DB will eventually become just a logo", the media expert pointed out.
According to him, the goal is to disappear liberal democracy in Bulgaria. Assoc. Prof. Lozanov emphasized that this is not the first case in which a leader of the democratic right has resigned - before Kiril Petkov, Hristo Ivanov did the same.
"What happened poses a serious risk to the political representation of the political right in Bulgaria", the expert also commented.
