At the invitation of the Chief of Defense Admiral Emil Eftimov, a trilateral meeting will be held on Wednesday with the Chiefs of Defense of Romania and Turkey – General Georgitsa Vlad and General Metin Gyurak.
The talks are expected to discuss issues of mutual interest related to strengthening security in the Black Sea region, expanding cooperation in the maritime and land domains, as well as prospects for the development of joint initiatives to ensure security in the Black Sea through the use of new technologies for surveillance and early warning in the maritime domain, the Ministry of Defense announced.
The defense chiefs of the three countries will consider opportunities for future military cooperation in disaster and crisis response.
Ideas for improving regional preparedness and interoperability through information exchange, coordination of military assistance, and conducting joint exercises and scenarios for response to earthquakes, floods, and other natural disasters are expected to be discussed.
