„I feel sorry for Kiril Petkov. In my opinion, he has the least fault for what happened", Delyan Dobrev from GERB-SDF told BNT.
„In those days when we wondered if he would resign, no one came out to defend him. No one came out to say he shouldn't leave because he is not directly to blame. Kiril Petkov, in my opinion, is an honest person and as such, he failed to thrive in this environment“, said Dobrev.
According to Dobrev, „the budget has done its job“.
VAT increase not being considered, he said in the studio of "The Day Begins" GERB-SDF MP Delyan Dobrev.
"One of the ways to cope is not only higher collection, but also the absorption of funds from EU funds. The European Commission congratulated us for carrying out a reform in energy".
According to him, fears of inflation after our accession to the eurozone are overstated, because there is enough competition in Bulgaria, especially between food chains.
Delyan Dobrev is not worried about the budget and is convinced that the deficit will remain within 3%. If it is seen that there will be a greater non-fulfillment of the transitional part, the Ministry of Finance will submit an update, but so far no such update has been scheduled.
"I said from the very beginning that the budget is too optimistic, although its implementation is better than I expected. The Ministry of Finance's forecast was not for 15%, but for 30% revenue growth, and that is why there is some delay and non-fulfillment in the revenue part. This is not fatal, because the Ministry of Finance is cutting expenses and the budget deficit is 1.2%.
According to him, the only change is the projects of the municipalities - it is not about cutting funds, but a change in the list of projects they submit because they are changing their priorities.
The protests in the health sector are fair - everyone working there deserves higher salaries, said Delyan Dobrev, but pointed out that the budget's capabilities are limited and increases will be considered in light of this.
According to Dobrev, the PP-DB is trying to make victims and that someone is repressing them.
"It is not true. All we hear from the PP-DB is a fight against corruption. Now they are suddenly left without a flag - we have not heard any other ideas from them. Suddenly it turned out that they are rotten with corruption. I felt sorry for Kiril Petkov, because he has the least fault in this situation and in these three or four days no one came out to defend him".
