Vice President Iliana Yotova commented that regarding the scandals surrounding “Botas” and the arrest of the Varna mayor - she hopes for objective actions by the investigative bodies. In the first comment from the presidential institution after the final green light for Bulgaria's entry into the eurozone, Yotova once again reminded - there was a need for a referendum before adopting the euro.
“Indeed, the adoption of the euro is a new page in Bulgarian history. The question is whether we are ready? We did not do the most important thing. We had to have the consent of the Bulgarian citizens and go with their vote. We needed the referendum”, commented the vice president.
The vice president refused to comment on the essence of the prosecutor's office's latest actions in the energy sector and the arrest of the mayor of Varna.
“I can't comment because I have as much information as you. I hope for an objective investigation. Both in the energy sector and for the mayors”, was categorical Iliyana Yotova.
