Rosen Zhelyazkov: PP's support for the vote of no confidence saddens me - 1

The support of "We continue the change" for the vote of no confidence in "Velichie" saddens Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov. The Prime Minister made the statement from Rome, where he participated in the fourth High-Level Conference for the Reconstruction of Ukraine.

"PP's support for the vote of no confidence in 'Velichie' saddens me. I wonder how they will explain this to their voters", Zhelyazkov said from the Italian capital.

The fourth vote of no confidence was submitted by "Velichie" with the signatures of "Vazrazhdane" and MECH on the topic "failure in the environment and water sector". The vote is scheduled for Friday as the first item on the parliament's agenda.

The Prime Minister categorically stated that the vote of no confidence will not pass because it has no prerequisite and subject. "The topic itself does not affect the work of the cabinet, and it is making efforts to resolve inherited problems", explained Zhelyazkov.

In his words, the vote is political and without subject. "A fifth and sixth vote will come. PP supports it neither in a wedge nor in a sleeve, and that saddens me", added the Prime Minister.

Zhelyazkov raised the question of whether PP's support means future synchronized actions with "Velichy" and "Vazrazhdane". "Does it mean that the PP will have synchronized actions with "Velicie" and "Vazrazhdane", will they seek a future coalition and majority?", he asked.

The Prime Minister noted that in politics, all kinds of cocktails of incomparable tastes are possible, but he wondered how the parties would accept this support.

The PP-DB coalition is divided on the issue of the fourth vote of no confidence. "We continue the change" announced that it would vote "for" the overthrow of the government, while "Democratic Bulgaria" would not participate in the vote.

DB believes that votes "under the Russian flag" cannot be supported, referring to the initiators from "Velicie", "Vazrazhdane" and MECH.

This is the fourth attempt to overthrow the "Zhelyazkov" cabinet. The first was on April 3 on the topic of foreign policy, the second on April 17 for corruption, and the third on July 4 for fiscal policy. All three votes were rejected with about 54 votes "for" and 130 "against".

For a successful vote of no confidence, at least 121 votes out of a total of 240 members of parliament are needed.
