The Bulgarian ambassador in Skopje was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of North Macedonia regarding the use of the adjective “North Macedonian“ in the address of the Prime Minister of the Republic of North Macedonia, Hristijan Mickoski.

On the same day, the Prime Minister of the neighboring country made extremely unacceptable public insults to the Bulgarian Foreign Minister, ending with "It's like a mouse teasing a lion".

In this regard, our Ministry of Foreign Affairs clarifies: “The Bulgarian diplomat explicitly emphasized that in the public space the official authorities of the Republic of North Macedonia systematically and purposefully demonstrate a lack of respect for our country. "Bulgaria will not tolerate hate speech, personal attacks and the deliberate undermining of relations between the countries," the position further states.

And Georg Georgiev posted on his Facebook profile "The lion has been in these lands for centuries. Long live Bulgaria!"
