Sofia now has 24-hour public transport to both terminals of the airport - 1

As of last night, the night bus line N4 of the Sofia City Transport has been expanding its route, and will now serve both terminals of the Sofia Airport “Vasil Levski“ (Terminal 1 and Terminal 2), dariknews.bg reported.

This provides additional opportunities for comfortable travel for both those arriving with late flights and those departing in the early hours of the night. This was written on his Facebook profile by the mayor of Sofia, Vasil Terziev.

He specifies that the buses on line N4 will stop sequentially at: Terminal 2 and Terminal 1, after which the route continues in two main directions: towards the center of Sofia and the “Gotse Delchev“ district, and towards the “Druzhba 2“ district. It is important for travelers to pay attention to the direction of travel of the bus when boarding from the airport, warns the mayor of the capital.

Connections with other night lines are also provided. Bus line N4 makes a direct connection with the other night lines N1, N2 and N3 through the common stop at “Knyaz Alexander I Battenberg“ square. This provides easy transfer to areas such as “Lyulin“, “Mladost“, “Obelya“, “Studentski“, “Triaditsa“ and “Poduyane“. Through the Central Station stop, passengers also have the opportunity to connect with railway and intercity bus transport.

Line N4 will run every hour, synchronized with the schedules of the other night lines in Sofia, and will be served by large buses with a capacity of between 90 and 100 passengers, writes Vasil Terziev.

As of today, improvements in daytime transport are also in effect with the unification of lines No. 84 and No. 184. They are merging into one - No. 84, in order to improve frequency and optimize the route. The new line No. 84 will run every 12 minutes on weekdays (instead of the previous 24 minutes for line 184). The interval on weekends will be 20 minutes.

The unification eliminates differences in the sequence of service between the terminals and provides more regular and predictable transport for both those traveling to and from the airport and those working in logistics and business areas near the Sofia airport.

With the expansion of the night line N4 and the optimization of line 84, Sofia Municipality reinforces its commitment to the development of efficient and convenient public transport - both during the day and at night.

Similar to a number of European capitals, Sofia aims to provide better connections and comfortable travel for its citizens and guests, adds Mayor Vasil Terziev.

The Sofia Municipal Council decided at its meeting on 26.06. from July 15 to the airport there will be 24-hour public transport. The night line N4 changes its route, extending to both terminals of the airport, after which it will continue to the "Druzhba" residential area, which guarantees 24-hour transport service to "Vasil Levski" Airport - Sofia, is recorded in the report of the submitters - Boris Bonev and Gergin Borisov from "Spasi Sofia". About 22,000 people a week travel to and from the airport during the night hours, and the night buses will also serve the logistics zone in the area, whose employees work non-standard working hours and number several thousand more people. Providing 24-hour public transport is part of the airport's goals for carbon neutrality.
