Our request is in September at the earliest, when we hold discussions, when we form adequate arguments and indicate an alternative. This was said at a press conference at the BTA National Press Club in Plovdiv by the co-chairman of "Yes, Bulgaria" and deputy chairman of the parliamentary group of "We continue the change-Democratic Bulgaria" (PP-DB) Bozhidar Bozhanov about submitting a vote of no confidence in the "Zhelyazkov" cabinet.
Bozhanov explained that it has yet to be decided what the vote of no confidence will be about, but it will be clearly argued, and not like the previous ones. The role of the vote of no confidence is not simply to write on 10-15 pages how bad the government is and for this to be another vote that has failed, he commented. According to him, this is currently being done by the "pro-Russian part of the opposition", which wants to bombard the ruling party with hollow votes every week and thus actually serves them.
Our role as the opposition is to point out the big problems that this government creates and to say where it is wrong. This is the legitimate way to end it, commented Bozhidar Bozhanov. “If we are well enough prepared with the vote and one is not submitted every week - we will succeed“, he stated.
According to Bozhanov, Boyko Borisov is particularly sour about not being prime minister and shares it in every statement he makes. "The majority has been stabilized by Mr. Peevski, and the government will hold on until Mr. Peevski decides. If Mr. Peevski decides while he is having coffee with Borisov, they can throw in the towel“, he added.
The press conference also touched on the topic of state-owned properties announced for sale. “We see another example of a policy that is being implemented without adequate preliminary analysis. In many cases, these properties, although they are announced as no longer necessary, after detailed research it turns out that this is not exactly the case”, Bozanov pointed out and added that the municipal councilors from the PP-DB check each property on a map prepared by Boyan Yurukov from the National Council of “Yes! Bulgaria".
The MP pointed out that there are striking examples of properties that are certainly not obsolete and there is no reason to be sold, giving the example of green areas in inter-block spaces, historical sites that are of public interest and fishing villages.
As a right-wing formation, we are not against the nationalization of these properties. If they are indeed obsolete, if an adequate analysis has been conducted, they should be sold so that the state does not accumulate things that it cannot manage well, he commented. Bozhidar Bozhanov also said that from „Yes, Bulgaria!“ they asked questions to the regional minister about how and by what criteria these properties were selected, and that they insist that they be sold according to the most transparent procedures and with clear protection of public interests.
The press conference was also attended by the chairman of the group of „We continue the change – Democratic Bulgaria“ (PP-DB) in the Plovdiv Municipal Council Vladimir Slavenski and the municipal councilor Vesselina Alexandrova.
