Rumen Hristov: There is an analogy with the protests that shook the capital in 2020 - 1

We cannot look with indifference at the demands that the opposition makes. It is normal for the opposition, although so diverse, to look for a way to overthrow the government. It is in their interest for their voice to be heard or for this voice to even trigger early elections.

This is what the chairman of the UDF Rumen Hristov told NOVA NEWS.

According to him, at the moment there is a certain analogy with the protests that shook the capital in 2020. However, Hristov pointed out that a symbolic protest is currently being observed - by the group of “We continue the change” against formations with which they were already in coalition.

„If we go back to Kiril Petkov, we will see two entities that are in the coalition with him today – these are ITN and BSP. So in a sense they are now protesting against formations with which they were already in coalition”, Hristov pointed out.

"It is normal for the opposition to look for a way to overthrow the government. But if we go to elections again, who will be the coalition partner? Let's say that the ruling coalition currently does not have a majority – then PP will line up in a coalition with MECH, – "Velicie". This would be a very interesting configuration," he also said.

Regarding the election of a new ombudsman and the extraordinary addition of the vote as an item on the parliament's agenda, Hristov stated that the proposal was reached only after the categorical choice of Velislava Delcheva as the candidate for ombudsman,

Hristov defined this candidacy as one "which can also receive the necessary number of votes to be able to include a vote as an item on the agenda".
