„The political message that the arrest of Varna Mayor Blagomir Kotsev sends out is „this is possible“, „this is allowed“, „this is okay for things to happen and for people to be arrested“. It has become a habit in Bulgaria to pronounce sentences before the court has pronounced“. This was commented on „This Morning“ by Assoc. Prof. Petar Cholakov - political scientist and lecturer.
„Looking at it from the outside, this action has all the signs of a commissioned action. Looking at it from the inside, however - all the incompetent idiots who have always worked there are working there. They always come in with dirty tricks and do the same things. This is not from today, but for decades. We cannot set boundaries and say that this is a pure order“, said lawyer Nikolay Hadzhigenov.
“I personally do not accept the reproaches against the court – I am there all the time. The fact that Peevski has the Sofia City Court, in a normal situation would be funny. It is interesting why he does not have the Varna court. The only person who ever had a private court was Borisov – he created the Specialized Criminal Court, he nursed it“, he added.
According to the words that the case of the Varna mayor is being heard in Sofia – complies with the law.
"More importantly, both panels of the court have found a sufficiently substantiated assumption of participation in criminal activity", noted lawyer Hadzhigenov.
According to Assoc. Prof. Petar Cholakov, the action against Blagomir Kotsev unites people. Lawyer Hadzhigenov stated that the protest is party-based.
"There are no grounds for new elections. At the moment, the solitaire is perfectly arranged for Borisov and Peevski. They will continue to control the state", pointed out Assoc. Prof. Cholakov.
"Peevski's greed is omnipresent. He will sink the ship because he is unable to create anything meaningful. He is only able to eat something, after which it dies", commented Hadzhigenov.
