Dimitar Gardev: Four years were lost in one tranche of the PVP, but we are catching up - 1

We expect a positive response for the payment under the PVP. The reason for this delay was the delayed legislative reforms. This second tranche is the most burdened with legislative activity. We had to very quickly catch up on these years of non-working parliaments, unstable majorities and missed time and opportunities. This was stated by Dimitar Gardev from "Ima takvi narod" in the program "Osche ut dzhen" on BNT.

In order for this plan to be approved, over 15 laws were changed, three new ones were written. The general requirement was for changes in the legislation and we are confident that the second tranche will be approved. It amounts to 653 million. euros, he emphasized.

In these 4-5 months, quite serious successes have been achieved in the payments made so far. We have about 2.7 billion leva in funds received, with over 1.3 billion in the last 5 months, which is equal to the amount received in the past 4 years, explained Dimitar Gardev.

In addition to this second tranche, we also want to apply for the funds for the third tranche. This is a matter of a very well-considered tactic and a change in the preliminary plan. There were 9 tranches. If they had been structured in the same way, Bulgaria would not have been able to join - we are so late (one tranche in 4 years).

According to him, the ambition is to lose minimal funds because we have reserves. This was the biggest obstacle (second tranche). After overcoming this obstacle, we are left with a more effective organization of work. The projects are related to energy efficiency, renewable sources, cybersecurity, surveillance, communications, etc. You can see how in 5 months, when there is a working parliament and a lot of work, how it has caught up. We work in full communication with the EC. People understand and are on our side, they want to help us, the politician explained.

Four years were lost in one tranche of the PVP, noted Dimitar Gardev.
