The idea for a new mega-airport in Poland dates back nearly 20 years, but only at the beginning of this year was its project fully ready and it was possible to proceed with its implementation. The investment exceeds 30 billion USD, and the ambition is for it to become the most modern in Europe. It will serve 34 million passengers per year, with its capacity increasing to 40 million by 2035.
It will be located between the capital Warsaw and the third largest Polish city - Lodz. The start of construction activities is scheduled for early 2026.
The new airport will compete with London's "Heathrow" and that of Dubai, and its main task will be to connect travelers from Central and Eastern Europe to every point on the planet.
