The investigation continues against the employee from the State Fund for Agriculture, who requested and received a bribe of 1,000 leva, NOVA reported.
According to the prosecutor's office, the accused lied to a farmer from the Kostinbrod region that he needed to be re-inspected. However, he could have hidden it for a bribe of 1,000 leva.
"The employee from the State Fund for Agriculture himself called him and told him that there were some irregularities and that a cross-check was coming, during which they would check all his lands and plantations. Do they meet all the requirements so that he can receive the corresponding subsidy that he is entitled to," said Sofia District Prosecutor Natalia Nikolova.
The perpetrator was detained at the time of receiving the money. He has also been charged, and the prosecutor's office is about to request his permanent detention. The State Fund "Agriculture" has already fired the bribe-taking employee.
