On November 11, an international operation was conducted in Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Romania, Hungary, and Moldova by Europol and Eurojust, related to the production of synthetic drugs and precursors. Bulgaria has been participating since Monday, November 10, and on Thursday, in Varna, officers of the General Directorate for Combating Organized Crime (GDC) detained a Moldovan man alleged to be part of the group. This was stated at a briefing by the Director of the Bulgarian Anti-Drug Drug Control Bureau, Chief Commissioner Boyan Raev.
He added that a total of five kilograms of methamphetamine, precursors for its production, as well as documents were found in the countries where the criminal group operated.
The Deputy Director of the Bulgarian Anti-Drug Drug Control Bureau, Senior Commissioner Emil Borisov, said that it is assumed that the Moldovan detained in Bulgaria is one of the main suppliers of methamphetamine in Bulgaria.
Chief Commissioner Raev also announced another operation by the Bulgarian Anti-Drug Drug Control Bureau regarding the distribution of drugs in small settlements in the country. Four people were detained in it and a warehouse with numerous cannabis vapes was excavated.
