The Supreme Court of Cassation (SC) finally imposed a sentence of 14 years in prison on the man who intentionally caused an accident near the Sliven village of Krushare in November 2021. in which a 19-year-old youth died. This was reported by the press center of the Appellate Prosecutor's Office in Burgas.
We remind you that the fatal accident occurred after a conflict over a girl arose between 26-year-old Husein Husmenov and 19-year-old Petar Dosev in a nightclub. It subsequently escalated into an argument on social media and an arrangement to meet the next day to settle their scores.
However, the conflict escalated after the 19-year-old and his father left in the family car. Huysmenov followed them, caught up and hit them with his car once, and on the second hit he detected them at a speed of about 85 km/h. This leads to the fatal collision in which the young man is killed and his father is moderately injured.
The case received a wide public response, and protests were organized in front of the Courthouse in Sliven with a demand for a fair verdict.
Initially, the District Court imposed a penalty of 7 years “imprisonment” of HH. The sentence was protested by the supervising prosecutor. The appellate judges in Burgas respected the prosecution's protest and doubled the punishment. The Supreme Court finally confirmed it, and the man has already been taken to Burgas prison, the prosecutor's office pointed out.
