During an action at the border crossing "Captain Andreevo" Bulgarian customs officers seized heroin worth over BGN 1,000,000.
He was hidden in a car coming from Turkey. The operation is joint with the participation of the "Customs" Agency, GDBOP, Border Police and the National Revenue Agency.
On May 26, 2024, a passenger car "Volkswagen" was stopped for a detailed inspection. with a Bulgarian license plate, driven by a 24-year-old woman, accompanied by a 41-year-old Bulgarian man.

The customs team, specialized in drug trafficking, decided to do a thorough inspection of the car. Their suspicions led them to remove the car's rear tires, where they found 24 packages hidden in the factory door sill cavities.
These packages contained a beige powdery substance that tested positive for heroin in a field drug test.

The seized heroin has a total weight of 6,120 kg and is valued at approximately BGN 1,028,160.
On the discovery, a pre-trial proceeding was initiated by an investigating customs inspector, led by the District Prosecutor's Office - Haskovo. The man involved has been charged with drug smuggling.
