A 53-year-old man was charged with possession of more than 12 kg of cocaine found during an inspection of his car near Simitli. District Prosecutor's Office - Blagoevgrad leads the investigation.
Yesterday on the E-79 main road, a team from the Second RU - Blagoevgrad stopped a car for inspection. Upon investigation, the police officers found that the driver A.V. has numerous criminal activities and has been convicted.
The driver was escorted to the police station for drug testing. A routine check revealed a cut hole in the floor under the back seats of the car, through which rectangular packages wrapped in clear plastic could be seen. After a search of the vehicle, 12 packets of a white powdery substance were found. In a field drug test, it reacted to cocaine. The total weight of the drug is 12,699 grams.
By decree of the supervising prosecutor A.V. was brought in as a defendant for possession of a high-risk narcotic substance in large quantities, with the aim of distribution. The criminal act was committed by him under the conditions of a dangerous relapse.
Currently, the offender is detained for up to 72 hours. A request for a remand "detention" against the accused.
