The Sofia City Court has closed the criminal proceedings against Ivan Todorov, accused in the case regarding the leaked data from the National Revenue Agency , due to no crime committed. This was reported by Nova TV.

The court amended the decree of the Sofia City Prosecutor's Office, which partially terminated the criminal proceedings due to lack of evidence. However, it was contested by Ina Lulcheva, Todorov's lawyer.

Kristiyan Boykov is also accused in the same case, as he was initially accused of terrorism, and the owner of “TAD Group” Todorov that he deliberately facilitated him to commit a crime.

The case started in the Specialized Prosecutor's Office on charges of crimes against the Republic. The investigation lasted four years before the state prosecution brought it to court. It was returned several times to the prosecutor's office to eliminate violations.

Subsequently, the prosecutor's office and Boykov requested to enter into an agreement whereby they agree that the criminal proceedings against him for a committed computer crime be terminated and that an administrative penalty be imposed on him – a fine of BGN 2,500. However, the Sofia City Court rejected the proposed agreement, because it accepted that there is no way to impose a fine for a crime that, when committed, is punishable by one to seven years in prison.
