Are lambs being stolen before St. George's Day? Three animals were stolen in Ognyanovo, and four in the village of Bogolin. Still, stealing lambs is no longer so fashionable. If years ago sheepfolds were broken into and lambs fell into the hands of strangers at night, now it seems that this is no longer the case. Police statistics show this to some extent, because such attacks are now reported much less frequently, writes Nova TV.
With sheep in the field, it is always dynamic. That is why we talk to Rumen Dostinov briefly and concisely, just above the village of Lyubovishte. Without any introduction, he says that he has encountered routine thieves, but not those who deal only with illegally taking lambs.
With Lachezar Sultov, the situation is the same. He knows only by the bleating if the flock is in trouble and if there are any absentees from it. Now, around St. George's Day, people regularly come to the sheepfold to ask, like and buy. His sheepfold is located in a very delicate place - in Mikrevo, right below the Roma quarter. For order and discipline, the man relies on the dog - the faithful Krisko. He is of great merit in not letting a thief come near the lamb.
But there are still whites for the shepherds. In Mikrevo last year, the big summer fire destroyed tons of hay and Sultov's sheep barely made it through the winter. Dostinov's animals in Lyubovishte regularly encountered wolves.
