The SDVR revealed details of the attempted contract killing of Mitko Rusia and his son. It is believed that there were three perpetrators. The crime was committed on September 1, 2024. It was long in preparation, the Sofia Police specified, Nova TV reported.
The perpetrators studied the routes along which the targeted victims usually traveled. They chose a place without video surveillance and with dense bushes in which to hide for the assassination attempt.
After the assassination attempt, the criminals fled in a jeep with stolen license plates. They left the vehicle in the capital's "Iztok" district. The Ministry of Internal Affairs set up 24-hour posts to monitor who would look for the car. After no one came, the police inspected the car and conducted expert examinations.
A smear of gunpowder particles and DNA of the persons who were driving the jeep was taken. Surveillance of the suspects began. On April 29, the home of a person was searched, about whom there is information that he sold weapons to the alleged perpetrators of the attack.
“Mitko Rusya has suffered three other assassination attempts. This means that he has many enemies and therefore finding the real guarantor will take time”, explained the director of the SDVR Lyubomir Nikolov.
