13,435 items, most of which were textile products with trademark signs, were detained by customs officers at the Kapitan Andreevo Customs Point. The goods, which were seized due to suspicions of intellectual property rights violations, were found during two separate inspections of trucks entering the country from Turkey.
In one of the cases on May 15, 2025, a truck with a foreign registration arrived at the point. The driver - a Ukrainian citizen, presented documents for the transported groupage goods from Turkey via Bulgaria to Ukraine. The truck was selected for a thorough customs inspection, during which 10,078 textile products were found among the declared goods - most of them t-shirts, sports sets and bottoms, blouses and trousers with the designations of world-famous brands. Another 186 pairs of sports shoes and slippers and 32 handbags and purses with symbols of famous brands were found.
During another inspection of a semi-trailer truck traveling from Turkey to Ukraine, customs officers found, among the declared goods, a total of 3139 items, of which 1657 were textile products - t-shirts, blouses, shorts, men's underwear, socks, hats, 158 pairs of slippers and 14 handbags. Among the items, 1310 sunglasses were also found. All goods are branded with figurative and word images of famous brands.
In accordance with European Regulation 608/2013 on the protection of intellectual property, the goods have been detained. The owners of the relevant brands will be notified of the cases.
