Four people were detained in a special operation by the Directorate of the Bulgarian Anti-Corruption Bureau (GDBOP) against a group for coercion, threats and violence. The operation was carried out on July 17 in the territories of Yambol, Elhovo and Topolovgrad, with the assistance of the regional directorates of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Nova TV reported.
A pre-trial investigation has been initiated into the case. During the operation, four people aged between 26 and 38 were arrested. The detention of three of them was extended to 72 hours by a decree of the supervising prosecutor. They were charged with coercion, threats of violence and illegal actions with serious consequences.
Six properties were searched – three home addresses and three quick loan offices, as well as eight cars used by the group members.
A sum of over 50,000 leva in cash, 10 electronic devices, flash cards and numerous documents were seized - bank cards of loan debtors, deeds of ownership of cars and properties, notebooks and notes, as well as a gas pistol, batons and wooden clubs.
Over 10 witnesses were questioned. Work on the case continues.
