The Burgas District Prosecutor's Office is leading the investigation into the death of an 8-year-old child who fell from a great height during a parachute flight that was towed by a motorboat into the water, reports novini.bg.
The criminal act occurred on 18.08.2025, and the flight was carried out in the air over the sea near the Nessebar beach. The investigation has been assigned to a team of investigators from the District Investigation Department at the Burgas District Prosecutor's Office. It is being conducted for a crime under Art. 123 para. 1 of the Criminal Code.
At present, inspections of the scene of the accident, the parachute and the motorboat have been carried out. Witnesses are being questioned. An autopsy has been performed on a corpse. All documentation relevant to the case has been seized. A forensic medical examination is pending, as well as an examination to establish whether the attraction in question meets the regulatory requirements for its use.
Three persons have been brought to criminal responsibility for a crime under Art. 123, para. 1 of the Criminal Code. They have been detained for a period of up to 72 hours, and the Burgas District Prosecutor's Office is to submit a request for a preventive measure of "detention in custody" against the accused.
