A 42-year-old Burgas resident was detained just hours after two arson attacks in the "Slaveykov" and "Izgrev" complexes, carried out within an hour of each other last night, bTV reports. A total of four cars were burned in the arson, and five cars were partially burned.
The arrest was made as a result of the rapid operational and search measures taken by the employees of the Fifth Regional Department - Burgas, on whose territory most of the affected cars are located.
At around 01.20 today, the Second Regional Department - Burgas received a report of a burning car with a Burgas registration, parked in front of entrance 5 of block 56 in the "Slaveykov" residential area.
A car with a Burgas registration was affected and parked nearby by the incident. The fire was extinguished by two fire engines and four firefighters.
Around 02.41 a.m., the Fifth District Department - Burgas received a report of burning cars parked in front of entrance 6 of block 55 in the "Izgrev" residential area - it was determined that a car with a Burgas registration was on fire, and the fire engulfed and burned two cars parked nearby.
Four cars parked nearby also had partial burns on their bumpers and headlights.
The fire was extinguished by two fire engines and four firefighters.
