An 18-year-old boy from Plovdiv, who was later found to be driving without a license and under the influence of alcohol, caused a traffic accident in the city center.
The accident occurred shortly after 05:00 this morning, near the Water Palace in Plovdiv. The police press center told NOVA that a student crashed the car he was driving into fence panels at the roundabout in the city center.
After the accident, the young man tried to leave the scene. A check of the Ministry of Interior's records showed that the boy did not have a driver's license, and an on-site breathalyzer test showed a blood alcohol level of 1.4 per mille.
The youth was detained for up to 24 hours.
