Bulgarian national team player Alexander Vezenkov scored 20 points to lead Olympiakos to a 79:74 (22:19, 19:15, 19:29, 19:11) win over Peristeri in a Super Cup semifinal game at Greece in basketball, broadcast by BTA.
The heavy wing added to his statistics and 4 rebounds in his first official game after returning from the National Basketball Association of the USA and Canada.
Today the "red and white" from Piraeus will meet their great rival Panathinaikos in the dispute for the trophy. The European champions defeated Aris in the first semi-final with 81:68.
The victory over Peristeri did not come easy for Olympiakos, who trailed by eight points in the third quarter and by three before the start of the final period. Until that moment, Vezenkov was the player who kept his team in the game with 18 points. In the last 10 minutes, however, Serbian center Filip Petrushev made a very strong contribution, finishing with 18 points. Tyler Dorsey, Evan Fournier and Moses Wright each added seven points for the winners.
For Peristeri, Christopher Coffey was the most useful with 19 points, and Tobin Carberry added 14.
