Northern Ireland may not welcome Belarus in Belfast - 1

Nations League group stage match football between the national teams of Northern Ireland and Belarus may be moved from Belfast, as the players of the Belarusian team may not receive British visas, the BBC TV channel reported, BTA reported.

The meeting is scheduled for November 15. The two teams are rivals of the representative team of Bulgaria.

Belarusian teams, unlike the Russian ones, are not suspended from international tournaments, but play their home matches on neutral grounds and in front of empty stands. However, the UK government, due to sanctions against Belarus, cannot give guarantees that members of the Belarusian team will receive visas and be allowed to enter the country. In this regard, it is being considered that the meeting with Northern Ireland will take place at another stadium.

The teams of Northern Ireland and Belarus play in group 3 of League C. After three rounds, the team of Belarus together with Bulgaria occupies the first place in the ranking with 5 points, and the Northern Irish are third with 4 points.
