Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann said he was satisfied from the team's 1:0 victory over the Netherlands in the League of Nations, BTA reported. Thus, the four-time world champions qualified for the quarter-finals of the tournament two rounds before the end of the group stage.

"Our desire to win was great. The first half was extremely good. After the break, they turned things around. However, we didn't make many mistakes and it was an absolutely deserved success," Nagelsmann said.

"We have the ambition to win the remaining matches as well. We want to have continuity when it comes to results," he added.

Debutant Jamie Lewelling scored the only goal of the game and another goal in the first half was disallowed for offside.

"We won as a team. I scored the goal. "We defended well and I'm happy that I was able to help," Lewelling told ZDF.

Nagelsmann commented on his performance: "I didn't expect him to play so well. He played a great game".

France coach Didier Deschamps praised Randal Colo Mouani after two goals from the striker "roosters" won 2:1 away to Belgium in a Nations League Group A clash and are now in the quarter-finals.

Kolo Mouani scored from the penalty spot in the first 45 minutes and from a header in the second half as France held off the hosts to finish the game with 10 men after a second yellow card for captain Aurelien Chouameni.

"He is interesting, he is radiant. He is confident and has a very specific profile and has a great presence on the ball. He has a good header and with us very often achieves success," Deschamps told TF1.

Belgium dominated the opening minutes and would have opened the scoring if Youri Tielemans had not missed a penalty.

"We were stunned in the first 20-25 minutes when Belgium put in a lot of intensity and we made a lot of technical mistakes. When we were able to find solutions, it was better for us", added the selector.

"We had to wake up the players, mostly correct the mistakes, we had to calm down. We had to go forward and press well. Of course they had chances, but so did we in the second half. We are happy that we won this match, especially with 10 men", Deschan also commented.

France were without Kylian Mbappe, who opted to miss the last few Nations League games, and had several less experienced players in the squad, which made the win all the more palatable for Deschamps.

"This is a young team that doesn't have a lot of experience. We approached it seriously, but there was also enthusiasm for this game. It is better to win such meetings", he declared.

Italy lead the group with 10 points from four games ahead of France with 9, while Belgium have 4. The top two teams qualify for the quarter-finals to be played in March next year.
