Five world records in swimming fell in Budapest

The Hungarian capital hosts the World Championships in 25-meter pool

Five world records were recorded at the World Championships in 25-meter pool, which began in the Hungarian capital Budapest, BNR reported.

The USA won the men's 4x100m freestyle relay title with a personal best of 3:01.66. Jack Alexi, Luke Hobson, Kieran Smith and Chris Iuliano left no doubt that they possessed more speed than their rivals. Italy remained in second position, 1.99 seconds behind the champions. The Polish team took third place.

In the women's 4 by 100 meter relay, the triumph was again for the USA. The American women finished in 3:25.01 minutes, which is also a new world record. Runners-up of the USA in the discipline were Australia and Canada.

Cheyenne Casas won first place in the 200-meter individual medley. The American finished in 1:49.51 minutes, which is a championship record in Budapest.

In the women's 200 meter medley, Kate Douglas became the champion. The competitor from the USA stopped the timers at 2:01.63 minutes and set a new top achievement in the world.

In the women's 400m freestyle, Summer McIntosh left no chance for her competitors. The Canadian finished in 3:50.25 minutes and set another world record.
