Victoria Tomova made a comeback to continue in Berlin. The Bulgarian overcame the second round of qualifications for the women's tennis tournament in Berlin, which has a prize pool of 1.1 million US dollars. Tomova, seeded 11th in the schedule, erased a four-game deficit in the third set and won 5:7, 7:6(4), 7:6(6) against Australian Priscilla Hone, BTA reports.
Tomova, 76th in the current UTA rankings, lost the first set on her own serve, but managed to come back into the match in the second. She reached a tiebreak against the 139th in the world and recorded mini-breaks in the first and eighth games to equalize after 7:6(4).
In the final set, Tomova lost two of her first three service games, but made a big turnaround from 1:5 and reached another tiebreak. It started with two errors in the serves of both tennis players, and the Bulgarian received the first game of the match and realized the third after 161 minutes of play.
