Dalekov and Filev eliminated at the European Fencing Championships in Genoa

Nationals Simeon Dalekov (left) and Viktor Filev were eliminated in the sabre event at the European Fencing Championships in Genoa, Italy, BTA reports. The tournament began today and will continue until June 19, Thursday.

Dalekov recorded one victory - with 15:14 against Ukrainian Oleksiy Statsenko, but then the Bulgarian lost with the same result to Romanian Gheorghe Dragomir. He was eliminated in the next match by the number 1 seeded German Federic Kindler, who reached the semifinals.

Viktor Filev was eliminated at the start of the tournament with 6:15 against the Pole Benedikt Denkiewicz, who was eliminated in his next match against the Romanian Radu Nicu.

Tomorrow, Bulgaria will be represented by Rahim Rashaida, Svetozar Iskrov and Deyan Dobrev in the epee tournament.
