Svetlozar Iskrov was eliminated in the first round of the individual epee competition at the European Fencing Championships in Genoa (Italy), BTA reports.
Iskrov overcame the qualification groups, but at the start of the main schedule in the direct eliminations he dramatically lost a 14:15 throw to the Finn Jaako Paavolainen and ranked 83rd in the final standings.
The other two Bulgarian national epee athletes - Deyan Dobrev and Rahim Rashaida - were eliminated in the heats. Dobrev finished in 88th place, and Rashaida remained 96th out of 110 participants.
