US President Donald Trump is considering designating the American Anti-Fascist Movement as a terrorist organization. He announced his intentions during a conversation with journalists at the White House.

“I would do it if I got the approval of those present here“, Trump said, responding to a question about the possibility of recognizing the “Antifa“ movement as a terrorist organization. He noted that he would first expect to hear the opinion of US Attorney General Pam Bondi on this issue.

At the same time, Trump added that he would consider the possibility of recognizing other radical organizations as terrorist. “Antifa is terrible, but there are other groups. There are radical groups that get away with murder,” he stressed.

As Utah Governor Spencer Cox announced earlier at a press conference, the cartridges loaded into the rifle allegedly used to kill right-wing activist Charlie Kirk contained anti-fascist and LGBT symbols.

As early as 2019, during his first presidential term, Trump floated the possibility of designating the American anti-fascist movement as a terrorist organization. The “Antifa” movement in the United States is not a single centralized organization; the term is used to refer to all anti-fascists.
