Iran is ready to seek a fair and balanced solution that guarantees mutual interests in resolving the nuclear crisis. This was assured by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi in a telephone conversation with his French counterpart, reports the „Tasnim“ agency, reports News.bg.
He confirmed Tehran's commitment to diplomacy.
French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot expressed concern about the growing tension, stressing the importance of maintaining dialogue and returning to the diplomatic path.
Araqchi rejected the European move to activate the so-called mechanism for the rapid restoration of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action in the UN Security Council. According to him, this mechanism has no political or legal legitimacy and only fuels further tensions and crises.
Emphasizing the peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear program, he referred to the recent agreement with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). Araqchi emphasized that Iran has always viewed diplomacy as the only means to resolve international issues, including the nuclear issue.
The two ministers also discussed the state of bilateral relations, including consular issues, and agreed on the need to maintain dialogue and continue consultations.
