US President Donald Trump is unhappy with the actions of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who prioritizes military action against the Palestinian Hamas movement over ceasefire negotiations. This was reported by The Wall Street Journal, citing its sources.

According to them, Trump's irritation has increased especially after Israel's strike against Qatar. In a conversation with his advisers, the American leader expressed the opinion that Netanyahu was mocking him.

The newspaper notes that despite his dissatisfaction, Trump has refrained from taking harsh measures against Israel. The publication attributes this to the good personal relations between Trump and Netanyahu. Several unnamed US officials told The Wall Street Journal that Trump is proud of his warm relationship with the Israeli prime minister and does not want to damage it.

The US leader also remains committed to establishing diplomatic relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia and considers this a major diplomatic goal. The Wall Street Journal previously reported that Trump had a tense phone call with Netanyahu after the Israeli strike on Doha. According to the newspaper, Trump was unhappy that he learned about the attack not from Israel, but from the US military.

Trump pointed out to Netanyahu that the Jewish state had attacked the territory of a US ally who was mediating negotiations to end the military operation in the Gaza Strip. Netanyahu responded by saying that he had a “small window of opportunity” to strike and felt compelled to take advantage of it.

On September 9, Israel struck senior members of the Palestinian Hamas movement in Doha. The Palestinian movement reported the deaths of six people, including the son of one of the organization's leaders in the Gaza Strip, Khalil al-Hayy, and a member of the Qatari security forces. Reports of the deaths of senior Hamas members have not yet been confirmed.
