The Israeli army will attack Hezbollah's military infrastructure in southern Lebanon "in response to the group's attempts to resume its activities in the region," an army spokesman said today, quoted by Reuters, BTA reports.
The Lebanese government is under pressure from the United States, Saudi Arabia and Hezbollah's internal opponents, who insist on the organization's disarmament.
„Hezbollah“ warned that it would be a big mistake to even discuss disarmament while Israel continues air strikes on Lebanon and occupies territories in the southern part of the country.
„We are warning to evacuate residents in the buildings marked in red“, army spokesman Avihai Ardae wrote in “Ex“ and published maps of three Lebanese villages.
The spokesman said the attack would be carried out soon, but did not specify the exact date.
In November, with the mediation of the United States, an agreement was reached between Lebanon and Israel after more than a year of conflict triggered by the war in the Gaza Strip, Reuters notes.
