A Russian fighter jet has flown over a German naval frigate in the Baltic Sea, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said today, quoted by DPA, BTA reports.
"The entry of Russian drones and fighter jets deep into Polish and Estonian airspace, as well as the flight over a German military frigate in the Baltic Sea within just days, clearly shows that Russia is literally testing state borders, including those of NATO countries, with even greater frequency and intensity," Pistorius said.
Making these statements, Pistorius called on German lawmakers to approve the defense ministry budget for 2026
According to the minister, Russian President Vladimir Putin "intends to provoke NATO member states and take advantage of the Alliance's weaknesses, but he is wrong, as NATO responds to provocations unanimously and decisively, but at the same time with the necessary balance, which is especially important these days".
