US President Donald Trump's plan to achieve a ceasefire in the Palestinian Gaza Strip includes Washington's guarantee to prevent Israeli annexation of the West Bank, Al-Hadath TV reported.

According to the channel, the plan calls for the US to "commit to preventing Israeli annexation of the West Bank". Trump's initiative calls for an "immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip", the "release of all Israeli hostages" and “thousands of Palestinian prisoners, including 100-200 people sentenced to life imprisonment“.

A condition for the implementation of the plan is “the end of Hamas rule“ in the enclave. According to the American leader's proposal, a committee formed by the Palestinian National Authority will be established to govern Gaza. According to “Al-Hadath“, Trump's plan provides for “a gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip according to a schedule“, as well as “the creation of a security corridor 500-1000 meters wide“ around the enclave.

On September 23, Trump met with representatives of Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt, Jordan, Qatar, Turkey and Indonesia to discuss prospects for resolving the conflict in the Gaza Strip. According to the British newspaper Financial Times, the US president has outlined a new peace plan. It envisages the deployment of an international contingent of Arab and Islamic military personnel in the enclave after the end of the conflict. The plan includes a clause for the simultaneous release of all hostages held by Hamas.

According to the publication's sources, the participants in the meeting reacted positively to the US proposals, but stressed the need for greater participation of the Palestinian National Authority in the processes related to the governance of Gaza after the war.

Twelve countries have formed a coalition to provide financial support to the Palestinian National Authority. This was stated in a statement by the French Foreign Ministry, published on the department's website.

“Today, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Iceland, Ireland, Spain, Norway, Saudi Arabia, Slovenia, France, Switzerland and Japan announced the formation of an extraordinary coalition to guarantee the financial sustainability of the Palestinian National Authority“, the statement said.

It emphasizes that “the coalition was created in response to the acute and unprecedented financial crisis facing the Palestinian National Authority“. “Its primary objective is to stabilize its finances and preserve its ability to govern, provide essential services and maintain security“, the statement added.

The countries that formed the coalition demanded that Israel immediately unblock all Palestinian customs revenues and cease any measures that impede, weaken or threaten the existence of the local administration.

Earlier, at a conference at the UN headquarters in New York, Andorra, Belgium, Luxembourg, Malta, San Marino and France announced their recognition of the State of Palestine. In addition, on September 21, Australia, the United Kingdom, Canada and Portugal officially recognized Palestine. According to their statements, a commitment to the principle of “two states for two peoples“ is the key to peace and security for both the Palestinian and Israeli peoples.
