The death toll from the earthquake in the southern Philippines has risen to seven, with 11 injured, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council reported.
According to the council, the consequences of the disaster have affected 8,400 people, of whom approximately 8,000 have been accommodated in evacuation centers.
A 7.4-magnitude earthquake struck the Philippines on the morning of October 10. Later that evening, tremors of magnitude 6.8 were recorded. Philippine seismologists have recorded more than 700 aftershocks. The provinces of Davao Oriental, Eastern Samar, Southern Leyte and Surigao del Norte were affected by the earthquake, and tsunami warnings were issued.
