The "Tomahawk" missiles are intended primarily for launching from ships and submarines, and the US has a very limited number of ground-based launchers for them. However, this is not an obstacle to their transfer to Ukraine.
This was predicted on the air of "KIEV24" TV channel by Manhattan University professor Igor Eisenberg.
According to him, the US Army probably has only two batteries of ground-based launchers for "Tomahawk". They began to be produced only in 2024.
At the same time, according to Igor Eisenberg, the decision to hand over the missiles will be made by Trump based on his own judgment as to whether it will bring him personal benefit or not. In particular, from the point of view of his image.
According to the expert, Trump still wants to force Putin to sit at the negotiating table with Ukraine, so for this purpose he can completely provide Ukraine with "Tomahawk".
As for the problem of the lack of launchers for them, Eisenberg refers to the recent statement of the former commander of US forces in Europe Ben Hodges. He recently noted that the Ukrainians can create anything practically from nothing.
"We can recall that for the launch of "Storm Shadows" missiles "They adapted fighter jets that were Soviet-made. They developed launchers. I wouldn't rule anything out," the American professor said.
