Poland closes two airports due to military operations in response to Russian attacks on Ukraine - 1

Airports in the Polish cities of Radom and Lublin have been temporarily closed due to military aviation operations. This was reported by the Polish Air Navigation Services Agency (PANSA), quoted by “Reuters“, reports News.bg.

The reason for the measures is a Russian attack on facilities in neighboring Ukraine, the agency specifies.

PANSA spokesman Marcin Hadaj announced that at the request of the army, a directive was issued for restrictions in the country's airspace, which includes the temporary closure of the airports in Radom and Lublin.

“There are certain restrictions in the eastern part of Poland, and planes should avoid this area“, Hadaj said. He added that the airports would likely remain closed for about an hour, but the final duration would be determined by military authorities.

As a reminder, on October 29, Polish fighter jets intercepted a Russian plane carrying out a reconnaissance mission in international airspace over the Baltic Sea. According to the military, the plane was flying without a flight plan and with its transponder turned off.
