Lithuanian Prime Minister Inga Ruginiene said on Thursday that her Polish counterpart Donald Tusk had agreed to postpone the reopening of checkpoints on the Polish-Belarus border, Reuters reports, quoted by News.bg.
The two leaders held talks on Wednesday and agreed to coordinate their actions regarding border crossings, Ruginiene said at a news conference.
Lithuania, a member of NATO and the European Union, this week closed its land border with Belarus until the end of November in response to balloons flying over from Belarus.
Ruginene stressed that the balloons carrying cigarettes, which led to the five airport closures this month constitute a form of hybrid attack, and said her country would begin to take them down.
