The Minister of Energy of Ukraine Svitlana Grinchuk met with the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi during her official visit to Canada, Ukrinform reported, referring to Grinchuk's post on “Facebook“, BTA reports.
“We held an open and frank discussion with the Director General of the IAEA Rafael Grossi in Toronto. Ukraine highly appreciates the efforts of the agency. The presence of IAEA experts at facilities that play a key role in ensuring nuclear and radiation safety is extremely important – especially now, when the enemy is intensifying attacks on the Ukrainian energy system“,

IAEA to send experts to affected sites
The Ukrainian minister thanked Grossi for the IAEA's quick response and the agency's readiness to send experts to the facilities damaged in the latest Russian strikes, which could have serious consequences for nuclear safety.
Restoration of power supply to Zaporizhia NPP
According to Grinchuk, the meeting discussed the situation at the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) and the process of repairing power lines that should restore power to the plant.
This will end the tenth and longest power outage in the facility's history.
The minister once again emphasized that the only way to guarantees the safety of the Zaporizhzhia NPP is its return to the control of the Ukrainian „Energoatom“.
