A 6.3-magnitude earthquake struck Afghanistan's Hindu Kush region, Reuters reported, citing the US Geological Survey.
The quake was registered at a depth of 28 kilometers, and the epicenter was 22 and a half kilometers from the city of Kulm, which has about 65,000 inhabitants.
The Afghan Disaster Management Agency indicated that information on casualties and damage would be shared at a later stage. "Reuters" specifies that it cannot yet verify through an independent source what damage or casualties there were as a result of the earthquake.
More than 1,000 people have died since the earthquake in Afghanistan in August, according to data from the Afghan Red Crescent, cited by "Reuters".
