According to the message, Maduro demands that Washington cancel the reward for his capture and guarantee his safe departure from the country. The consideration of this option is taking place against the backdrop of a large-scale increase in US military forces in the Caribbean, which the publication calls the largest since the Caribbean crisis in 1962.
The publication notes that the official reason for the military pressure on Caracas is the declared fight against drug trafficking, but this explanation seems unconvincing. The article also states that Venezuela serves only as a transit point for drug cartels, and the real reason for the escalation is the interest of the US administration in changing power in the country.
On November 5, Bloomberg reported that the United States could launch a military campaign against Venezuela "around November 15," when the aircraft carrier "Gerald R. Ford" will cross the Atlantic Ocean.
