Turkey: War in Ukraine at its worst, negotiations inevitable - 1

Russia's war against Ukraine will eventually end with negotiations, they are inevitable. This statement was made by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on the A Haber TV channel, UNIAN reported.

„I think this war is at its worst, as both sides are focused on destroying the other's transport and energy infrastructure,“ he said.

Fidan said the war has already turned into a drone war. And the losses, he said, „have exceeded manageable limits“.

„Nobody can move anywhere. Only those who are not interested in losses can move forward. The war must end. We believe that negotiations are inevitable. This can happen in Turkey, it can happen elsewhere, but I believe that this peace will definitely come“, said Hakan Fidan.

Russia continues to attack Ukraine's energy infrastructure. Against this background, a major corruption scandal erupted in Kiev. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that changes are coming to the top of the country's most important energy companies, which have been rocked by a major corruption scandal, DPA reported.

"Along with a thorough financial audit, we must also begin to renew the management of these companies," the Ukrainian leader wrote on "Telegram". He noted that he had coordinated the next steps with Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko.

"Energoatom" is at the center of the biggest corruption scandal in Ukraine since the beginning of the Russian invasion in February 2022. The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office announced that they are investigating a major corruption scheme related to "Energoatom", through which nearly $ 100 million was laundered. The checks focus on huge bribes allegedly paid in the construction of protective facilities designed to protect energy facilities from Russian air strikes, BTA reported.
