How the EU should respond to economic coercion and how to reduce dangerous economic dependencies - these issues will be the focus of attention at the informal meeting of European leaders on February 12 in Belgium.
This is clear from the invitation letter of the President of the European Council António Costa.
The meeting will take place at the "Alden Bissen" castle. The leaders will discuss how the EU can strengthen its competitiveness by using the single market as a tool for growth, investment and innovation. The emphasis will be on reducing national barriers, simplifying the regulatory framework and creating the so-called 28th regime to facilitate the growth of companies and limit the administrative burden.
The agenda also includes accelerating work on the Savings and Investment Union. The meeting will feature Mario Draghi, former President of the European Central Bank, and Enrico Letta, the ideologist of the free movement of knowledge and investment. They will present their views on European competitiveness and its development following the publication of their reports.
