Ukraine is counting on a clear political decision to be made on its accession to the European Union in 2027. This was stated by the Deputy Head of the Cabinet of the Ukrainian President Igor Zhovkva, quoted by “Evropeyskaya Pravda“, reports News.bg.
The statement was made after a meeting with a delegation of the European Parliament's Committee on Security and Defense (SEDE), headed by Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann.
According to Zhovkva, Ukraine will be fully prepared to start negotiations on European integration in the first half of this year.
He stressed that Ukraine's membership in the EU is a key element for future security guarantees not only for the country, but also for the whole of Europe. That is why, in his opinion, a clear and timely political decision is needed for Ukraine's accession to the Union by 2027.
