Two Romanian vloggers spent a month in Russia praising the country and showing the supposedly wonderful life of Russians in their videos. However, the Federal Security Service (FSB) arrested them, stripped them to their underwear, and imposed a 50-year ban on entering the country, libertatea.ro reported.
In January, Kristi and Denisa visited several cities in the Russian Federation and filmed content for their YouTube channel In2 Prin Lume. In their videos, they talk to locals and a Romanian family. They praise Russia and show “what you won't see on TV“.
They impose the narrative that life in Russia is wonderful, but Western countries don't want to show it. They claim that the streets are clean and the prices in the stores are low.
“Look how beautiful“, says Kristi, while Denisa praises the low prices, but fails to mention the level of salaries and purchasing power of Russians, Digi 24 reports.
The videos of the Romanian vloggers claim that “there is freedom“ in Russia. However, at the airport in Vladivostok, the Romanians are detained and thoroughly searched by FSB agents. The two were stripped to their underwear during questioning, after which Russian authorities imposed a 50-year ban on them from entering the country.
Russian officials checked their passports, took fingerprints, and even checked their underwear. The conversations focused on their previous visits to Ukraine and France, as well as their reasons for coming to Russia. In their latest vlog from Russia, the two Romanians say that the arrest has not changed their opinion of the Russian Federation - despite the humiliation.
